One NYE at Stars, with RB, Roberto etc, I remember having a 1950’s retro dessert that was reinvented: “Baked Alaska”. It was amazing. Still memorable 40 years later.
Santa Fe Bar & Grill was my first introduction to your food Jeremiah, probably 1983, when we stayed with friends in Berkeley. Stars followed and remains in my memory as one of the pinnacles of Californian food culture
Thank youi, Mao, you are the best commenter!

And to you, David

Quite the impact if still a pleasure after 40 years!

Ever since "mad" cows
$6 Cristall (sp) !!!
Gold: “The stronger the oysters taste and saltiness, the more vinegar ratio to the wine. “
This Curried Oyster Soup with Crabmeat is a keeper.
The menus themselves are a tour de force. Exciting combinations of ingredients and options with prices that bring tears to my eyes.
I have tears every time I think what profits Stars would have had with $60 steaks and $18 cocktails.
Your greatest profit is the love you gave the people you fed.
