The Stanford Court menu, wines and chef line-up is absolutely incredible. Wondering what the per person cost was to attend?! You couldn’t afford to put something on like that today.

J - I have fond memories of being a very poor CCA culinary student sharing a one-bedroom apartment with my best friend up the street from Stars. We used to sit at the bar and nurse one cocktail each all night just to be there and wait for you to come out of the kitchen. Ah…the 80’s in San Francisco. Magical times. Thank you..

Of course you are completely correct in that sweetbreads are BRAISED and not cooked from raw. (Makes me wonder if any of those cooks taste their own cooking and have the experience to know how sweetbreads are supposed to taste.) The first exotic menu for your exotic acquaintances is so beautifully harmonious!

Ragoût de Truffes au Vin Rouge: A refined dish highlighting black truffles simmered in red wine, offering a rich and earthy flavor.

• Épaule de Mouton Grillé: A flavorful piece of lamb shoulder, grilled to perfection for a tender and juicy texture.

• Haricots Verts Fins au Beurre: Delicate green beans, steamed and then coated with butter for a touch of richness.

• Fromages: A selection of aged cheeses, offering a variety of flavors and textures.

• Riz à la Maltaise: A sweet dessert consisting of rice pudding flavored with orange, often served with orange segments or an orange sauce.

God! I can only imagine the highlights of your life that are too precious to share!

As usua;l, Mao, you are the best. And I do not see cooks in restaurants tasting their food as they cook. They had better be good!!

All completely heavenly from start to finish. The Stanford Court menu is fantastic and what I wouldn't give to have you fix me up with some Rose Petal Hollandaise !

I think of those 2 words frequently. There is a small bistro just east of Villefranche-sur-mer with that name and it is a delight to dine there on a sunny day in the winter when it is cold almost everywhere in the USA and Europe.
